Introduction

ITG successfully completed a Sterilizer Safety Upgrade project, working closely with customer 's engineering team. Our expertise in Design, Engineering, On-site Commissioning Support, and Project Management was leveraged to ensure the ISO 13849-1 approved safety upgrade of the Sterilizers on Lines 07, 10, 09, and 06.

ITG provided comprehensive solutions ranging from design and engineering to on-site support and project management to meet customer's requirement for an ISO 13849-1 approved safety upgrade for their Sterilizers.

Delivered Solutions and Achievements

Design

• Schematics/CAD Design:
• Updated existing AutoCAD prints with new safety design.
• Developed installation drawings in collaboration with Southern Atlantic Electric.
• Updated Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID) as required.

• Safety Logic Design:
• Designed new Safety Logic programming and schema.
• Created a Safety Requirements Specification (SRS).
• HMI Design:
• Added Sterilizer Overview screens detailing system status and alarming.

Engineering

• Generated an ISO 13849-1 Safety Validation Report.
• Developed Operations Overview document.
• Supported the removal/demolition of obsolete components.
• Provided Customer Approved Safety Validation Report which included:

• ISO 13849-1 Letter of Conformity
• SISTEMA Verification
• Project Closeout:
• Created As-Field Installed Drawings.
• Executed Customer approved Site Acceptance Tests.

On-Site Support

• Supported on a Time and Material basis.
• Successfully completed the start-up and commissioning of all four sterilizers, each estimated to require five shifts.
• Collaborated with electrical and pneumatic vendors to ensure smooth installation and commissioning.

Project Management

• Managed the project on a Time and Material basis.
• Coordinated meetings and project documentation.
• Liaised with all vendors involved.
• Supported customer engineering with project-specific tasks.
