Large Contact Lens Manufacturing Logistics Facility Dashboard Enhancements

Introduction

ITG successfully concluded a logistics Dashboard Enhancements project, offering both on-site and off-site engineering support to customer. Leveraging our extensive experience and skills in ASP.NET, C#, HTML, and JavaScript, we effectively addressed high-level issues while delivering meaningful enhancements to the logistics dashboard.

Summary

Operating under a time & material not to exceed agreement, ITG acted upon the requirements specified in customer’s rquirements. The primary aim was to correct inconsistencies and reactivate inactivated metrics on the logistics dashboard, thereby streamlining data representation.

Completed Scope of Work

Software Engineering and Support

  • Employed ASP.NET, C#, HTML, and JavaScript to correct high-level issues and deliver potential enhancements.
  • Provided both on-site and off-site support, facilitated by remote VPN access granted by customer.

General Tasks and Accomplishments

  • Inconsistent Roll-ups: Reviewed and redefined roll-up metrics to eliminate inconsistencies.
  • Reactivated Metrics: Established clear inactivation procedures and verified their effectiveness through examples.
  • Character Limit: Extended the character limit of explanation/action fields, pinpointing where these fields are displayed/entered.
  • Calculation Engine: Clarified the conditions under which a month gets locked/unlocked in the calculation engine.
  • Server Separation: Assessed current SSIS job execution procedures and successfully separated the database server from the web server.
  • Data Configuration: Implemented feature to freeze measure-def configurations during related record recalculations.
  • User-Access and Hierarchies: Demonstrated the process for creating new hierarchies, comparing current functionality with the new, improved system.
  • Data Entry Locking: Identified whether this pertained to file uploads and made necessary changes.
  • Others:
  • Conducted rigorous testing, maintained source control, and managed deployment.
  • Documented all key components, especially the calculation engine and CLS data portal.
  • General Support Services: Offered as-needed general support on an hourly basis, providing robust solutions to emergent issues.
