Introduction

ITG completed the conclusion of the customer’s Emerson PLC Rockwell VFD integration project. Utilizing our extensive expertise and experience, we provided a solution that met and exceeded the contractor's expectations. Summary

In response to a request, ITG provided a Time and Materials Not to Exceed project. This covered the integration of 17 Rockwell PowerFlex 755 VFDs into existing Emerson R3Xi PLCs. We're pleased to state that the project was delivered on schedule and within the allocated hours.

Scope of Work

We were tasked with converting the controls for 17 motors from Motor Starter controls to VFD controls. Specifically, the project involved integrating 17 Rockwell PowerFlex 755 VFDs, equipped with Profinet modules, into an Emerson R3Xi PLC system. Profinet was used as the controls protocol.

PLC Programming

Basic PLC programming was executed to integrate the VFD controls with the existing Emerson PLCs. Our engineers ensured that the integration was in full compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Testing and Verification

An exhaustive series of tests were carried out to confirm the successful communication between the newly integrated Rockwell VFDs and the existing Emerson PLCs. The verification process ensured that all communication links were operational and met the project requirements.
